Generally speaking, I don't know that either sex "has it easier" nowadays. Everyone points to the corporate big shots and refers to the "glass ceiling" that prevents women from moving further up the corporate ladder. Frankly, I work my tale off and I'm not even CLOSE to the glass ceiling. If anything, the pendulum may have swung the other way. I've seen woman rocket past much more qualified men and I have to wonder, "Is this really better?" On the other hand, I have seen men in a similar situation. But is filling a quota "fair"? If it's true that we should judge people not by their gender or the color of their skin, why do we create "solutions" that do exactly that?

By far guys have it easier. I can't say I ever wished to be a female. Sorry. Throughout the ages gals have had to put up with so much more, it is not just an American culture thing. It is a human culture thing.

I think that guys usually have it easier in American culture. I don't think that's the problem. What makes it more difficult is the lack of support within American culture that girls/women need to give to each other. I know that I have from time to time been a party to being jealous of what other women have achieved where I have failed. So yeah, I think that I see more support among guys, and sometimes I think, wow, it would be soooo much easier if I were male.
